completed a 20 yr. study on the causes of spinal
cord injuries.

THEIR CONCLUSION:  A strong relationship

resulted in a National Call To Action for all
coaches, at every level, to teach ALL players,
regardless of position, to keep their head up
and the importance of playing "HEADS UP
FOOTBALL"
The % of players who suffer spinal cord
injuries by position include:
1.  DEFENSIVE BACKS 
35.4%
2.  LINEBACKERS 10.5%
3.  OFFENSIVE BACKS/RECEIVERS 7.0%
4.  DEFENSIVE LINEMAN 6.5 %
5.  QUARTERBACKS 3.1%
6.  OFFENSIVE LINEMAN 2.2%
